san francisco city hall wedding string music

planning your san francisco city hall ceremony? we love being part of those short, emotional moments under the rotunda:

the ones that feel small in scale but huge in meaning.

our string duo (violin + cello) brings warmth, depth, and just the right amount of drama to your walk down the aisle. whether you want something timeless like canon in d or something modern and personal, we’ll make it sound beautiful live.

we keep things simple so you can focus on getting married.

our most popular package is the string duo, but we also offer solo violin or solo cello if you prefer something smaller. we highly recommend the duo for a fuller, more balanced sound that fits perfectly in the rotunda’s acoustics.

  • violin + cello

  • one hour of live music for the ceremony (includes prelude, processional, and recessional)

  • transportation, setup time, and travel within san francisco

you choose your songs from our set list, or you can request one new song for us to learn and arrange.

*we are an sf city hall approved musician group and carry the necessary insurance for the venue.

how it works

ceremony music flow

every ceremony is different, but here’s how music usually fits into your day at city hall:

  • prelude: guests arrive (5-10 minutes of soft background music)

  • processional: groom, wedding party, and bride entrances (usually 1–2 songs)

  • vows + ceremony: short and sweet (no music during this part)

  • recessional: your walk out together, upbeat, joyful, and celebratory

  • postlude (optional): a few extra songs while guests exit or before your first photos

we’ll help you time each part so your ceremony flows naturally, and the music feels seamless.
