Annie has been performing with Montalvo Strings since 2012, bringing warmth, artistry, and organization to every event. She began piano at age 5 with her mom before discovering the violin in sixth grade. Annie earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Violin Performance and Communicative Disorders at San Francisco State University. Outside of music, she enjoys traveling, pickleball, Pilates, and exploring museums.

Coco has been performing with Montalvo Strings since our very first event in 2012. Her musical journey began at age 3 with piano before she picked up the violin at age 4. She later performed with the Peninsula Youth Orchestra and studied under Eric Leong of Symphony San Jose. Her lifelong passion for music brings elegance and warmth to every performance.

Sarah, a Bay Area native from Oakland, started playing violin at age 11. She has performed with MUSE Vivo Orchestra, Berkeley Youth Orchestra, and Oakland Youth Orchestra, including a 2019 tour of China, as well as SJSU Orchestra, various theater productions, and chamber ensembles across the Bay Area. She has studied with Asuka Yanai, James Kirksey, Joseph Gold, Justin Ouellet, Matoka Toba, Bruce Moyer, and Madeline Mitchell. Sarah currently performs with San Francisco Philharmonic Orchestra, Golden Gate Orchestra, and a range of other artists and bands.

Janie has performed and taught music throughout the Bay Area and San Diego since 2015. Before then, music has always been a part of Janie’s life, having learned various instruments since the age of 4. Currently, Janie performs with and arranges music for various groups, including friend’s bands, community orchestras, and, of course, with Montalvo Strings.

Austin’s musical journey began in fifth grade when he first picked up the violin. He has performed with several ensembles throughout San Diego, including the Poway Symphony, SDSU Symphony, and the San Diego Symphony’s Best and Brightest concert series. Alongside his career as a chemistry professor, Austin continues to share his passion for music through community orchestras and Montalvo Strings.
